The heating season officially begins on October 15; however, in accordance with regulations, it may start earlier—between October 1 and October 15, if the forecast for the average outdoor temperature for the following day is 12°C or lower.
According to data from the Hydro-Meteorological Service (HMS), the forecast average outdoor temperature for October 13 is 12°C, thereby meeting the conditions for the production, delivery, and supply of thermal energy in accordance with the decision of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC). Until October 15, information regarding whether the conditions for thermal energy delivery for the following day have been met will be published daily on the ESM Heat Supply website. When specific atmospheric conditions are met, specifically, when outdoor daytime temperatures reach certain threshold values, the supply of thermal energy is interrupted, meaning the system is shut down. Central heating is switched back on immediately once temperatures drop below those established thresholds.
