A démarche was delivered to to Denion Meidani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the Republic of Macedonia, who was summoned to the Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade (MFAFT).
As reported by several media outlets, his deputy attended the meeting and a verbal protest note was addressed to him regarding the ambassador’s inappropriate public statements, which border on normal diplomatic communication and potential interference in the internal affairs of the country of accreditation.
It was noted at the meeting that in the future, public appearances and statements should be in the spirit of excellent friendly relations and mutual respect between the two countries, as well as in accordance with normal diplomatic standards and practices.
