The Skopje Appellate Court rejected the appeal of Stojanche Jovanovski, who was sentenced to 12 years in prison in the first instance, and confirmed the verdict pronounced by the Skopje Criminal Court.

“The Skopje Appellate Court informs in the interest of the public and the media that, acting on the criminal case KZ-549/26, after a public session held on 18.06.2026, it issued a verdict rejecting as unfounded the appeal of the defendant Stojanche Jovanovski from Skopje and confirmed the verdict of the Basic Criminal Court Skopje K.br.551/26 of 07.05.2026,” the Court said in a press release.

Jovanovski was convicted in May on charges that he caused his wife Ivana and their daughter Katja to jump off a balcony, as a result of long-term domestic violence.

Jovanovski was tried for domestic violence, endangering safety, and inducing suicide.
