At a time when culture is increasingly emerging as one of the most subtle, but at the same time the most powerful instruments of international connection, the Director of the Macedonian Cultural and Information Center in Sofia, Prof. Dr. Zoran Pejkovski, held a significant working meeting with the Mayor of the Mogila Municipality, Dragancho Sabotkovski. The meeting represented an in-depth and visionary dialogue on the future of cultural cooperation, as well as on the strategic affirmation of Macedonian spiritual values beyond the borders of the homeland.

In a constructive and working atmosphere, the interlocutors exchanged views on the possibilities for establishing a long-term partnership between the local government and the Macedonian Cultural and Information Center in Sofia. It was emphasized that contemporary cultural policy must not be limited to nurturing tradition, but should create conditions for its dynamic upgrading, internationalization and contemporary interpretation. That is why the institutional connection between local cultural potentials and the international platform provided by the Center in Sofia was recognized as a significant step towards systemic and strategic action.

Professor Pejkovski noted the importance of cultural diplomacy as a bridge of trust, understanding and mutual respect between peoples. He emphasized that Macedonian culture, through its authenticity, historical depth and contemporary creativity, represents a powerful ambassador of the state. In this regard, concrete initiatives for the implementation of joint projects were considered, including organizing thematic exhibitions, literary evenings, music concerts, scientific panels and multimedia events that will present the cultural values of the Mogila Municipality to the international audience in Sofia.

The discussions took place in the spirit of institutional maturity and responsibility, with a clear awareness that culture as a living organism develops through partnerships, support and strategic planning. Support from local institutions was assessed as an essential pillar in the mission of cultural diplomacy, which represents an active and long-term process of building spiritual bridges.

As part of the meeting, Pejkovski presented the Plaque for Commitment and Support of Macedonian Culture Abroad to Mayor Sabotkovski. This recognition is an expression of gratitude for his continuous commitment to affirming national cultural values, for his openness to initiatives that go beyond the local framework and for his active participation in cultural cooperation processes. With this gesture, cultural diplomacy gained a concrete and symbolic dimension, which confirms the importance of synergy between local and international action.

The meeting has additional weight in the context of marking the twentieth anniversary of the founding of the Macedonian Cultural and Information Center in Sofia. This significant anniversary is a testament to the two decades of persistent, dignified and dedicated work of the institution, through which numerous cultural events and projects have been realized that have presented Macedonian culture as an integral part of the European cultural space. Over the past years, the Macedonian Cultural Center in Sofia has become a recognizable institution that actively contributes to the deepening of cultural dialogue.
