Germany donates equipment to Interior Ministry for police modernization worth €600,000

The minister emphasizes that the significance of this support is not only reflected in the equipment, but also in the message it carries – that Germany stands shoulder to shoulder with Macedonia in ensuring security and stability for its citizens

Macedonian Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski received on Friday a donation from the Federal Republic of Germany worth approximately EUR 600,000., at the Ministry’s premises.

“Today, at the Ministry of Interior, we received a valuable donation from the Federal Republic of Germany, in the presence of Ambassador Petra Drexler, which once again confirmed the strong partnership and mutual trust between our two countries. This is equipment worth approximately EUR 600,000– motor and special vehicles, thermal imaging cameras, computers and software, document verification devices, which will directly contribute to more efficient border protection, a more successful fight against organized crime, human trafficking and migrant smuggling, as well as to the improvement of forensic capacities,”  Toshkovski said in a social media post Friday..

The minister emphasizes that the significance of this support is not only reflected in the equipment, but also in the message it carries – that Germany stands shoulder to shoulder with Macedonia in ensuring security and stability for its citizens.

“Through joint training and exchange of experiences, we are building a modern, professional and European police force. I extend my sincere gratitude to the Federal Police of Germany and the Embassy of Germany for their continued support. Together, we continue to strengthen the security and institutions of our country,” Minister Toshkovski pointed out.
