Good news from the United Statestoday – strong confirmation of Macedonia’s progress in cybersecurity. The Government Cyber Incident Response Center (MKD-GOV-CSIRT) has been accepted as a full member of FIRST – Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams, a global network of teams for responding to computer security incidents, Macedonian Minister of Digital Transformation Stefan Andonovski said Monday.

It is particularly important, the minister added, that this step is being taken with domestic human and infrastructure resources from the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Cyber Security Sector, with expert and technical support from our friends from the United States and the EU.

“This is an important step for Macedonia in building a stronger, professional and European cyber resilience system. This membership means greater international trust, faster exchange of information, access to expertise and better coordination in dealing with cyber threats. With this, we complete another step of the Reform Agenda with a deadline of June 30, 2026 and unlock new funds from the Growth Plan,” Andonovski noted.

The minister emphasizes that the country continues to invest in the capacities of cyber incident response services, in the protection of institutions and in the security of digital services for citizens and companies.
