Macedonian Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s initiative for peace in Ukraine, noting that the conflict has been taking lives for four years and that any opportunity for its resolution is welcome.
One of the main topics in the EU is security policy, and this is where integration and security policy come together, says Minister Misajlovski.
He assessed the security situation in Macedonia as good, although, he said that there were some hybrid threats.
“We have a good security situation in Macedonia. Looking at the scope of our neighbors, we also receive reports and analyses from them, but we need to be careful with some proxy elements that are happening in neighboring countries, different cells, and our services are doing an excellent job of that,” Misajlovski said.
However, the minister adds, there are hybrid threats, but we have help from our strategic partners in this fight against external threats.
“There are quite a few hybrid threats, in the area of non-conventional threats, in the area where they can threaten some institutions with economic, political power, but I can thank our strategic partners who directly help us in this fight against external threats. And this issue will be relevant in the coming decades, including together with artificial intelligence,” Misajlovski noted.
