Macedonia had two approaches in the EU negotiations -maximum concessions and the current one – sovereignty

Macedonia had two approaches in the negotiations with the EU and NATO. One principle was concessions, it began in 1993 and ended in 2017 and 2018 with the signing of the agreements with Bulgaria and in Nivitsi, and later with the French negotiating framework. This is a principle of maximum concession, without considering the consequences of such concessions, and the opposite is the 18 months of leading the Macedonian government by Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, which clearly shows that the principle of sovereignty, the principle of perseverance in pointing out what Macedonia has given in that process of moving towards the EU and through the Stabilization and Association process in which we are in the second phase, some of the things that the Prime Minister mentions are part of that phase and in the part of the reports and recommendations that Macedonia has received from the European Commission 17 times that it is ready to fully start negotiations with the EU, former Ambassador Marjan Gjorchev said in an interview with Ljupcho Cvetanovski broadcast on TV Alfa.

“Our Government is currently emphasizing that, our diplomacy is emphasizing that, our highest leaders, the Prime Minister and the President. They are pointing to that, and the opposition is saying that we have presented ourselves as victims?! No, we are talking about the real steps in which the Macedonian real value system has been harmonizing with the European one for 25 years and is literally completely harmonized. This is about values. Back in 1991, Badinter pointed out that we have an aligned Constitution, which could have been declared any constitution of any European country,” Gjorchev pointed out.
