The Macedonian Ministry of Economy and Labor has been noting an increased interest in the Law on Work Engagement, which has been organizing informational meetings across the country in the past period in order to familiarize citizens and companies with the benefits of the new legal solution.
Deputy Minister of Economy and Labor Marjan Risteski says that the interest in the field is significant, especially in the sectors that are directly covered.
The greatest interest, as the deputy minister points out, is in the hospitality industry, where there is currently a serious shortage of labor.
The Law on Work Engagement of Persons, which began to be implemented on January 1, allows for seasonal registration of people in the hospitality industry, agriculture and service industries. It covers young people, the unemployed, retirees and people from socially vulnerable categories, who will be able to work and earn additional income without losing their existing rights and benefits.
