The Macedonian Ministry of Transport announced that a preliminary selection has been made for the procurement of 150 electric buses and 75 charging stations.
After reviewing four bids, the expert committee assessed that three companies did not meet the requirements, so the joint bid of the Hungarian manufacturer Electrobus Ikarus and the Austrian EVN was selected as the most favorable bidder.
According to information, the selected companies offered a price of approx. EUR 314,000 per bus, which is considered competitive on the European market. As part of the contract, Ikarus will deliver the buses, while EVN will provide the charging stations.
The delivery will take place in three phases – the first 30 buses within six months, then 60 within a year and another 60 within 18 months from the signing of the contract.
