SDSM spokesperson Bogdanka Kuzeska at press conference on Sunday harshly criticized Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and the Government’s economic policies, claiming that the country was borrowing at an unprecedented pace.
“In the first three months of this year alone, a new debt of EUR 700 million has been incurred. On the backs of the people, on the backs of future young generations,” said Kuzeska.
The opposition spokesperson added that in two years the public debt had increased by EUR 2.3 billion and now amounts to a historically high 10 billion and 774 million euros.
SDSM points out that this is a net borrowing and that these funds are not being used to increase the citizens’ living standard.
