Macedonian Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska assessed Thursday that the budget was not in bad condition and that tax collection was proceeding according to projections.
“I wouldn’t say that the budget is in bad condition, but it is not enough for everything, just like at home. Macedonia’s budget has never had room for everything, this is not the first time. Maybe I, as a minister, am more restrictive now, I do not want money to be spent unproductively because after the corona we witnessed that money was spent very unproductively,” Dimitrieska-Kochoska said in a response to a reporter’s question.
The FinMin added that now we are only talking more transparently about things that some did not want to talk about before.
Within everything possible and available, we are doing our best, and the latest inflation data clearly shows that we have achieved what we set out to do, the minister adds.
Asked about inflation expectations by the end of the year, Minister Dimitrieska-Kochoska indicated that she expected it to be within the range of the previous month.
