After receiving a report to the Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) for Article 353 abuse of official position and authorization in relation to the announcement of a public call in 2023 for financial support to micro-agricultural wine producers, where over MKD 50,000,000.00 (over EUR 820,000) of funds from the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy were distributed without any legal basis.
By order of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, three people were summoned, one of whom was a minister at the time and the other two were members of distribution committees and now no longer work in the ministry, and were summoned to the police to give a statement about the allegations in the report.
A request has been sent to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the collection of additional documentation at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which the Skopje Interior Directorate will forward to the Public Prosecutor’s Office upon completion.
