The funds saved in the Second Pension Pillar is guaranteed and all insured persons will receive it, even if the state decides to abolish it, said Macedonian Minister of Social Policy Gjoko Velkovski in an interview with Sitel’s morning show, and assured that citizens should not be afraid that they will lose their savings.
“If the first and second pension pillars are merged? Will the money be somehow inherited? This is all that has been saved, each of us who has saved, no matter what happens, the money is his. It is guaranteed by both the Law and the Constitution. So, here citizens should have no dilemma that this money is theirs and has been saved,” said the minister.
Velkovski assures that the state is currently not considering increasing the retirement age. However, those who are professional, capable and want to work even after exceeding the limit can do so.
