The inspection services of the Macedonian Food and Veterinary Agency (FVA) at the Blace border crossing last week prevented the import from the Republic of Kosovo of two shipments of UHT milk, with a total weight of 27,520 kilograms, due to the presence of aflatoxin above the maximum permitted concentrations defined by the positive legal regulations.
The unsafe quantities of milk that were intended for distribution in a chain of markets in the country were harmlessly destroyed at the Drisla landfill last week under the supervision of an official veterinarian.
The samples for laboratory testing of the two unsafe shipments of UHT milk were taken as part of the Monitoring Program that the AHV inspection services at the border crossing implement for shipments of food of animal origin imported into the country.
