Macedonian Minister of Health Sasho Klekovski informed that 109 new cases related to the epidemic have been registered in Gostivar, and after the acute phase subsided, enhanced surveillance has been introduced to monitor possible infectious diseases.
Klekovski indicated that the number of newly reported cases in the last four days ranges between 80 and 125, but that at this moment it cannot be determined how many of them are directly related to the Gostivar epidemic.
“As of Tuesday, there are 109 new first contacts in Gostivar. The number ranges from 80 to 125 in the last four days, so at this moment we cannot say how much of this is a regular situation and how much is related to the epidemic. To do this, we must have epidemiological surveys,” Klekovski told a press conference.
