In coordination with several institutions – the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Agency, the State Construction Inspectorate, as well as the Aeroclub of the Stenkovec Sports Airport Skopje, a procedure will be initiated for the confiscation of the illegally built facility at the Stenkovec Sports Airport, which was used for catering, announced Macedonian Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski on Sunday.
In his statement, Nikoloski points out that the Ministry of Transport, as an institution responsible for first-category facilities such as airports, hospitals that treat tertiary health care, higher education buildings, sports halls, stadiums and other state infrastructure facilities, has in the past period seriously approached solving the problem with illegal facilities that fall into this category.
“Considering that the facility was completely illegally built on state-owned land, the competent authorities decided to address the Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) and the Court and request that the entire facility be confiscated for the benefit of the state, so that it can be used by the Civil Aviation Agency for pilot training and other needs. This is a clear message that the construction of illegal facilities in places where the Ministry of Transport and the State Construction Inspectorate have jurisdiction will not be tolerated,” Minister Nikoloski pointed out.
