Macedonian Minister of Health Azir Aliu informed Friday about the agreement signing for the country to join the EU4Health program, which represents a significant step towards further approximation of the Macedonian healthcare system to European standards and policies.
“By signing the EU4Health agreement in Brussels, we have made an important step forward for Macedonian healthcare. This is the largest program of the European Union in the field of healthcare. The accession of our country is a strong confirmation of the European perspective of the country and the confidence in the reforms we are implementing,” Minister Aliu pointed out.
The country’s health minister explained that EU4Health has an operational budget of EUR 4.4 billion and represents the largest investment of the European Union in healthcare. By joining the program, Macedonia gains the opportunity to actively participate in European calls, grants, public procurement, joint actions and partnerships with institutions from member states and participating countries.
