The Macedonian Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources held the quarterly coordination meeting of the Just Energy Transition Investment Platform (JETIP), at which the progress of the platform was presented. The meeting formalized the joining of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to the platform by signing the Arrangement for Accession to the Joint Declaration, which is a signal that support from international partners is continuing to increase.

“The Just Energy Transition Investment Platform is no longer just a planning platform – it is a platform that delivers. We have concrete projects under construction, workers being trained and investments being implemented on the ground. Through the Platform, we are sending a clear message that the international community supports our course towards a just and sustainable energy transition,” Energy Minister SanjaBozhinovska told the meeting on Wednesday.

Just Energy Transition Investment Platform (JETIP), established with the signing of the Joint Declaration of COP28 in December 2023, is the main coordination instrument of the Government for the implementation of the just energy transition.

Currently, around 80 projects have been identified that directly contribute to the energy transition and it is supported by leading international financial institutions: EBRD – as the main lead financial institution, KfW, World Bank, EIB, Climate Investment Fund, French Development Agency, Council of Europe Development Bank, CassaDepositi e Prestiti, UNDP and the EU.
