VMRO-DPMNE has sent a counter-offer to SDSM leader VenkoFilipche, who previously proposed that the Parliament adopt constitutional amendments to include the Bulgarian minority in the constitution, for which, as he said, he is ready to share responsibility with Prime Minister HristijanMickoski.

Speaking on behalf of his party, VMRO-DPMNE MP Mile Lefkov in an interview with TV 24 made a proposal to SDSM and its leader Filipche.

“Here is our counter-offer – let’s unite and ask for guarantees from the EU that after any constitutional amendments, Macedonia will not be blocked due to bilateral issues. Maybe if we have a common position we can negotiate better guarantees. Pass that on to Filipche as a counter-offer from us,” Lefkov told 24 Analysis.

SDSM leader VenkoFilipche called on Prime Minister HristijanMickoski and the Government together with him to make the constitutional amendments and to share responsibility for that act.

“At the same time, considering that, as was the practice in all countries — Croatia, Bulgaria and beyond — when the negotiations were ongoing, all parties worked together, I want him to know that we share responsibility for anything that will happen further during the negotiations. Although I am fairly certain that nothing will happen that will affect our identity, language, culture and so on, we still share responsibility and jointly participate in the entire process of conducting the negotiations,” said Filipce.

Addressing the panel discussion on the topic “The Geopolitical Dimension of EU Enlargement and Implications for the Western Balkans,” the SDSM leader urged on not missing the moment.

“We will be left behind, we will not have a chance, we will not be able to survive. There will be nowhere to get money, we will sink into poverty, and young people will leave the country. I am making a public call to take the step. Let us all share the responsibility together,”Filipche added.
