The Macedonian Government has proposed amendments to the Law on Traffic Safety that would limit the maximum speed and tighten the penalty policy. The proposed amendments, which were on the agenda of Wednesday’s plenary session in Parliament, stipulate that electric scooters can only be operated by persons over the age of 18, and the maximum permitted speed should be limited to 20 kilometers per hour.
In addition to the foreseen fines, temporary confiscation of the electric scooter for a period of 30 days was also proposed by the Government.
