Macedonian Foreign Minister Timcho Mucunski summoned on Tuesday the Bulgarian Ambassador to Macedonia, Jeliasko Radoukov, regarding the publication of the diplomatic note regarding the visit of Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski’s wife and son to Bulgaria, which also revealed personal data.
Representatives of the country’s strategic partners and NATO were also informed about the case.
“We have requested an explanation and a thorough investigation by neighboring Bulgaria into how this situation came about,” the Foreign Minister said.
The diplomatic note the minister is referring to is a document that the Macedonian Embassy in Sofia sent to the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior on January 6, 2026, which lists details about the trip of Mickoski’s wife and son from January 8 to January 11 to the famous winter resort in Bulgaria, Pamporovo. This document was released on a well-known anti-Macedonian FB page called “Grubovci, Enidze Vardar – Rodna Makedonija”.
The document released on the FB group on June 16 shows that certain information has been amateurishly edited, but still clearly shows details about the information about the official vehicles, the names of the passengers, the weapons carried by the security guards, as well as the radio frequency on which they communicated.
After this controversial FB group’s publication, an article was published on a local pro-Bulgarian blog, and even a reel was made with the help of artificial intelligence, which abounds with comments full of hate speech.
