Asked about a comparison of the average old-age pension during the SDSM/DUI-led government and the incumbent government, Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski points out that on a monthly basis it increases by 325% more than during the SDSM/DUI government.
“I see how the opposition is openly squirming after my interview given to a national media outlet where I made a comparison in the increase in the old-age pension of beneficiaries during the period of the government led by VMRO-DPMNE together with the coalition partners VLEN and the ZNAM Movement and the government led by SDSM and DUI.
In that comparison, I clearly stated that in these past two years, in these 24-25 months, in the case of that particular interview I said 23 months, but it doesn’t matter because the pension is adjusted twice a year, this government managed to increase the pension by an average of MKD 296 per month, while the previous government managed to increase it by MKD 91 in 83 months. When these two parameters are compared, we arrive at 3.25 times more now than during the time of the SDSM and DUI government, or that is mathematically precise 325%,” said Mickoski.
The PM also notes that if one compares the first 25-26 months of the SDSM/DUI-led government with these 25-26 months of this VMRO-DPMNE-led government, it turns out that the average old-age pension has now increased by 12.5 times compared to the previous government.
“Here’s another comparison when it comes to old-age pensions. Let’s compare the first 25-26 months of the previous government in the period June 2017 to June-July 2019 with these 25-26 months of this government, that is, then the average old-age pension for the first 25-26 months of the previous government increased by a full MKD 540. In these 25-26 months of the government led by VMRO-DPMNE, the average old-age pension increased by a little more than MKD 6,800, or more than 12.5 times. That’s the difference,” PM Mickoski pointed out.
