MOC Archbishop HH Stefan holds Liturgy for Kochani fire victims: Even if tears stop, the sadness won’t disappear

It remains deep in the hearts of those closest to them, said Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonia His Holiness Stefan, after the Archieratical Divine Liturgy and the general memorial service for those who died in the Kochani tragedy

A year has passed since that tragic night in which many young Macedonian children suffered. Time continued to flow, the days became endless months, and the months have already filled an entire year. The tears that flowed, flow without ceasing and have become everyday life for all mothers and fathers, for many relatives and friends, have become pain for this region and for all our people. And even if the tears stop, the sadness does not disappear, it remains deep in the hearts of those closest to them, said Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonia His Holiness Stefan, after the Archieratical Divine Liturgy and the general memorial service for those who died in the Kochani tragedy ended Saturday in the “St. Great Martyr George” church.

“The Holy Church also sympathizes and understands such sadness. And this time we have become convinced how tragic death is, especially when young people suddenly and tragically leave this world. Even the Holy Mary, the Holy Mother of God, was filled with such feelings and such sadness when she watched the events of Golgotha,” said Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonia HH Stefan in his address.
