Nothing can ease the pain of the families who have lost their loved ones or are facing the consequences of the tragedy, but we can and must do everything in our power to ensure that such tragedies never happen again, Macedonian President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova at the closing session of the international conference on the institutional and clinical aspects and solutions of the Kochani nightclub fire held in Skopje.
The Kochani tragedy does not remain just a lifelong painful memory, but remains an obligation and a constant reminder, and the fact that we are talking about today, according to President Siljanovska-Davkova, is proof that we are determined that such tragedies will never catch us unprepared.
“The true measure of a state is not seen in moments of stability, but in the way it faces its crises. Democratic systems are more resistant to crises and deal with them more easily,” said President Siljanovska-Davkova.
