The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has well-founded suspicions that marijuana has been illegally exported from the country before and that in addition to Skopje’s Alfa Pharm, other companies are also connected to the smuggling, confirmed Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski at a press conference Tuesday.
Toshkovski said that the state will delve into the essence of the case and that all those involved will be held accountable.
“We will have to show as a state that in such a huge case, from every aspect, from financial, criminal and legal, we will really delve into the essence of the case. And not only the so-called mules will be held accountable for the crime, as the prosecution and within the legal theory call those who are only transporters of certain illegal goods, but those who are behind the entire organized criminal gang will really be held accountable. And for that we will need more time,” said Minister Toshkovski.
