The Macedonian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) announces that it is closely monitoring the information in the public related to the allegations that former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski has been granted Hungarian citizenship, emphasizing that he remains a national of Macedonia and a person covered by final court decisions and active procedures.
The Ministry’s reaction states that, regardless of the speculation and unofficial information about his possible status in Hungary, the institutions continue to act in accordance with applicable legal procedures.
“Nikola Gruevski remains a citizen of the Republic of North Macedonia and a person who is subject to final court decisions and active procedures,” the Ministry of Justice said in a press release.
The MoJ stresses that the procedure for his extradition continues in accordance with domestic legislation, bilateral agreements and international conventions.
