The Internet was flooded with videos and photos of the little macaque monkey Punch in the Japanese zoo who found solace with his stuffed toy orangutan after being abandoned by his mother.

The story of seven-month-old Punch touched many, but had a happy ending. He was accepted by another group of his species.

However, the Skopje Zoo also recorded a case of rejection of cubs. The Zoo reminded the public of the little gibbon monkey that was abandoned by its mother four years ago and fell into a pond at Skopje Zoo.

Delfina, like Punch, got a toy orangutan, and zookeepers managed to reunite her with her brother Miki.

“Do you remember the story of the little gibbon monkey that was abandoned by its mother four years ago and fell into a lake? After saving her life, Delfina was raised by her zookeeper Zera, who dedicated all her work and free time 24/7 to this little beauty of ours. Now, together with her little brother Miki, they are adapting to an independent life, and Skopje ZOO is one of the rare institutions in the world that has succeeded in bringing these two gibbons together and adapting them. Many of our visitors admire the story of these two little gibbons, Zera’s dedication and sacrifice, but also the dedication and help of other employees in caring for these apes, so this toy is a gift from our regular visitor,” said the Skopje ZOO.

Miki and Delfina have also been receiving gifts and toys from the Skopje ZOO team on a regular basis in the past period.
