Amendments to the Law on Urban Planning and the Law on Construction are in the final phase, which will enable the construction of data centers in Macedonia, which will mean new investments, new jobs and GDP growth, Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport AleksandarNikoloski said on Sunday.
“With the development of artificial intelligence and the complete revolution that is happening in the world in the direction of Artificial Intelligence, data centers are becoming their necessity and support. Macedonia needs to pursue a smart policy here and attract investors who will invest in large data centers. To enable this, legal amendments are needed for the urbanization of such centers and the method of their construction. We plan to do this centrally and to manage the entire process within the Government so that when potential investors come, they will have ready locations and projects in which they can invest,” noted the Deputy PM.
Nikoloski assures that this will mean hundreds of millions of euros for Macedonia, new jobs and GDP growth.
