The Skopje – Blace motorway is part of the strategic vision for Macedonia to become a key transport crossroads in the Balkans, Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski said Wednesday after the country signed the EUR 30.8 million grant agreement with the EBRD for the construction of this important section.
“Regardless of the fact that we have no access to the sea, in this way the country can become the most strategically important point in the Balkans, through which business, trade, tourism and economic exchange will intersect,” said Nikoloski.
The Deputy PM notes that the 10.5 km long Skopje – Blace motorway represents an engineering challenge, with about forty facilities being built on the route.
