The introduction of colored license plates for official vehicles has yielded concrete results and reduced the misuse of state property by around 70 percent, director of the General and Common Affairs Service (GCAS) IvicaTomovski said in an interview with MRT 1, adding that there are still individual cases of violations, most often among lower echelons in the administration.
Tomovski urges citizens to actively report any irregularities they notice. As he pointed out, citizens can take photos of official vehicles if they suspect their misuse and send the evidence to the phone number or email address published by the General and Common Affairs Service.
In this way, the director added, the public can directly contribute to preventing the misuse of state resources and protecting state property.
“I can say that 70 percent of that abuse has been eradicated. I’m sure it’s still happening somewhere in the lower echelons, but I hope that citizens are aware enough, reasonable enough, can take pictures, can report it to the phone number and email address that we have published from the service, and we can share it with the press. If they haven’t understood how they should behave with state property and the people’s property, then let’s show them in practice,” said Tomovski.
