The number of workers in industry in the period January – April 2026 compared to the same period in 2025 dropped by 3.0%. In April this year, compared to April last year, the number of workers went down by 2.3%, the State Statistics Office (SSO) said Thursday.
The number of workers in the Mining and Quarrying sector dropped by 6.8%, in the Manufacturing sector by 2.2%, and increased in the Electricity, Gas, Steam and Air Conditioning Supply sector by 1.0%.
According to the main industrial groups, the number of workers in industry in April 2026, compared to April 2025, decreased in the groups Energy by 1.6%, Capital goods by 2.3%, Non-durable consumer goods by 3.1% and Intermediate goods, except energy by 2.8%, and increased in the group Durable consumer goods by 0.6%.
