Out of a total of 623 complaints processed by the Agency for the Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information in 2025, as many as 438, or nearly 70 percent, concerned the failure of institutions to act or their silence within statutory deadlines. This was reported by the Agency’s director, PetarGajdov, while presenting the 2025 Annual Report to the Parliamentary Committee on Political System and Inter-Community Relations.
Gajdov noted that throughout the year, the Agency processed all submitted complaints in compliance with legal deadlines, striving to ensure the consistent application of the right to access public information.
According to the data presented, the highest number of complaints, 344 in total, were filed by individuals, followed by non-governmental organizations, associations, and foundations with 194 complaints. Legal entities filed 51 complaints, while journalists and journalists’ associations filed 34.
