Skopje is strengthening its ties with the European cultural family. A cooperation agreement has been signed between Nova Gorica–Gorizia 2025 and the Skopje 2028 Foundation, opening up new opportunities for our artists, cultural institutions, the independent scene, and young people, Skopje Mayor OrceGjorgjievski said Thursday.

“Through this partnership, we are laying the groundwork for joint cultural projects, festival collaborations, the exchange of knowledge and experience, and the preparation of joint applications for European funding. The experience of GO!2025 is particularly valuable for Skopje’s preparations for the European Capital of Culture title in 2028. As mayor, I am committed to ensuring that international cooperation yields tangible benefits for our citizens, such as increased creative opportunities, greater visibility for our culture, and partnerships that will endure beyond 2028,” the Skopje Mayor noted.

Gjorgjievski expressed his gratitude to Nova GoricaMayor SamoTurel, GO!2025 Director MijaLorbek, and the Skopje 2028 Foundation team, led by MarjanCvetkovski, for their shared commitment.

“We are building a Skopje that actively contributes to the European cultural narrative through its culture, diversity, and creativity,” the capital’s mayor pointed out.
