At a Parliament session on Monday, MPs dismissed Justice Minister Igor Filkov, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy CvetanTripunovski, Minister of Inter-Community Relations Ivan Stoiljkovikj, Health Minister AzirAliu, Minister of Social Policy, Demography and Youth FatmirLimani, Minister of Local Self-Government ZlatkoPerinski, Minister of Culture and Tourism ZoranLjutkov, and Minister without Portfolio ShabanSaliu.
Earlier, Macedonian Prime Minister HristijanMickoski pointed out in his presentation that the position “was not and never will be an end in itself, but that it is a means through which the people are served.”
Referring to the proposal to dismiss some of the ministers, he said that all of them are people of honor and dignity and, above all, honest. Today, he emphasized, we are not saying goodbye to people who did not work, but, on the contrary, to people who, in various departments, made their contribution to the implementation of the program in which the citizens have placed their trust.
“From the first day we took office, I said that this Government would not be a Government of comfort, but a Government of results. It will not be a Government in which functions will be considered an acquired right, but an obligation that must be earned every day. That was not a political slogan, it was a principle. Today, we are showing that that principle applies equally to everyone,” said Mickoski.
According to the PM, the Government reshuffle should not be seen as the end of one’s work.
“Citizens deserve to clearly see the difference between politics that is satisfied with excuses and politics that brings results,” said Mickoski.
Thanking the members of the Government, who, as he said, have performed their functions honestly, responsibly and with dedication in the past period, Mickoski stressed “his sincere gratitude for their work, we open the next stage, not because we deny what has been done, but because we want to build even more on what has been done.”
