Personal acquaintance with ZoranZaev and VenkoFilipche, as well as closeness to the then ruling SDS were the most important criteria for applicants for obtaining a medical cannabis business license, VMRO-DPMNE MP BranePetrushevskitold a press briefing Wedneday.
“Not just anyone could get such a license, because it was reserved for people close to the Zaev clan and Filipche, which is why the Strumica region in Macedonia has the most factories for medical cannabis. In order to keep their business running and make millions, Zaev and Filipche planned to completely legalize marijuana in 2020 and thereby wanted to make Macedonia a world tourist attraction. Fortunately for the citizens, this attempt did not work, and now we see what their goal was. That this was planned inZaev and Filipche’s heads can be seen in the bylaw, i.e. the regulation on the cultivation of cannabis for medical purposes, adopted during the time of the SDS-led government, which is in conflict with the law, because it allows the production of cannabis flower that does not meet GMP standards. With this, it is logical that with its use or in the extraction process, the oil that is produced cannot be licensed, let alone be put on the market,” said Petrushevski.
“All suspicions and clues about drug crime lead to Zaev and Filipche. The Public Prosecutor’s Office should investigate this to the end, for once there must be justice and accountability for this criminal duo,”added MPPetrushevski.
