Around 80 divers from Macedonia and several countries from the region participated in a large ecological action to clean the bottom of Lake Ohrid, which took place this weekend with a central location in the Gradishtecamping site.
The action was organized by the Amfora Diving Center, and divers from Macedonia, Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina took part in it, with a common goal – protecting one of the oldest and most valuable natural treasures in Europe.
During the action, a significant amount of waste was removed from the lake bottom, with the participants sending a strong message about the importance of preserving the ecological balance and raising public awareness for nature protection.
Several diving clubs and institutions participated in the action, including the Amfora Diving Center, the Ohrid Institute and Museum, the Ohrid Red Cross, as well as diving clubs from Macedonia, including KPD Ohrid, SNK Vrelo, ENK Pena, SAE Tigar and BSN Volci.
From abroad, KPA Marsonia from Croatia, Triton Tec Team from Serbia, as well as SRK Shark and SRK Vitez from Bosnia and Herzegovina also participated.
The organizers emphasize that such actions are of crucial importance for the protection of Lake Ohrid and that regional cooperation is an example of how we can jointly contribute to a cleaner environment.
