Macedonian Prime Minister HristijanMickoski said Sunday that construction activities would intensify in the coming period, including six motorway sections built across the country in parallel. He told reporters that construction of the Blace-Skopje motorway section would begin by the end of August.
“We finally have a contractor for this project, a domestic company, and all requirements have been met for construction works to begin. I expect the launch of construction works on another motorway section, Bukojchani-Kichevo, in September. The Kichevo-Ohrid motorway is gradually being finished and is set to be put into use in the first quarter of 2027,” said Mickoski.
The PM added that works on three Corridor VIII and Xd sections (Prilep-Bitola, Tetovo-Gostivar, and Gostivar-Bukojchani) are also intensifying.
“All in all, six motorway sections will be built in parallel. We can also add the second and third sections of the Corridor VIII railway to this,” noted Mickoski.
The PM said there are more than 1,200 construction sites across the country, which is a serious indicator of improved economic activity, leading to a better living standard for citizens.
