In an effort to increase the efficiency of the police helicopter, which is participating in extinguishing the fire in difficult-to-access terrain above the village of DragovDol, Municipality of MakedonskiBrod, we have installed a prefabricated pool in the immediate vicinity of the fire line and the Treska River.
With this move, we have enabled the helicopter, instead of flying to Lake Kozjak, a 15-minute flight from the fire, to fill up with water from the pool in the immediate vicinity, which means that it is pouring a ton of water onto critical points of the fire every three to four minutes, the Protection and Rescue Directorate (PRD) head StojancheAngelov said in a social media post on Sunday.
