Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Wednesday there will be no snap elections this year, noting that focus in 2026 would be placed on reforms and consolidation.

PM Mickoski stresses that his goal is to respect the regular election calendar, which would mean going to the polls only after two years.

“My stance is that there will be no elections this year. This year is a year of reform and consolidation. I would like to have regular elections that will take place in the spring of 2028,” Mickoski told reporters.

Although the Government’s focus is currently on the implementation of promised projects and economic steps, the Prime Minister says that the political structure he leads remains mobile.

The PM adds that his party is in constant readiness for an electoral confrontation, regardless of when the date for their holding is set.
