PM Mickoskiholds series of meetings in New York with EU Foreign Policy Chief and high-ranking officials

During his visit to New York, Macedonian Prime Minister HristijanMickoski held several bilateral meetings with high-ranking officials, exchanging views on the country’s European perspective, regional cooperation, security, and current global challenges.

PM Mickoski also participated in the high-level panel discussion “Reaffirming the promise of peace: using the power we have”, hosted in New York by Finnish President Alexander Stubb, which addressed the importance of peace, dialogue, and responsible leadership, as well as the role of states and international institutions in tackling global challenges.

Mickoski also met with President Stubb; their discussion highlighted the importance of respecting international law, fostering strong multilateral cooperation, and the need to build a stable and secure Europe.

In a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo AlbinKurti, Mickoski discussed the advancement of good-neighborly relations, the deepening of regional cooperation, and shared challenges and development opportunities for both countries. Mickoski also held a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković, during which views were exchanged regarding Macedonia’s European perspective, the continuation of reform processes in line with European standards, the advancement of good-neighborly relations, and the strengthening of regional cooperation.

The Macedonian PM also met with the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security PolicyKajaKallas; the discussion covered current regional challenges, opportunities for further strengthening cooperation, and shared priorities aimed at ensuring a stable and secure region.

“The meetings in New York reaffirm Macedonia’s commitment to playing an active and constructive role in the international community, strengthening partnerships, and deepening cooperation with European and regional partners. Macedonia remains a committed partner in efforts for peace, stability, and cooperation, both as a NATO member and as a country strategically committed to European integration,” Prime Minister Mickoskisaid in a social media post Thursday.
