VMRO-DPMNE MP Antonijo Miloshoski in an interview with TV Sitel News stresses that VMRO-DPMNE remains clear that constitutional amendments should not be made if they lead the country into new uncertainty, without specific guarantees for achieving full EU accession.
“We are clear on this issue, we have expressed our position. We do not believe that constitutional amendments should be made, and at the same time such a step should lead us into uncertainty and be made for something for which you cannot achieve the goal,” Miloshoski pointed out.
The ruling party representative recalled how constitutional amendments have been made in the past – with fabulous promises that have not been fulfilled.
“We already had such constitutional amendments. Then SDS and DUI promoted them as constitutional amendments regarding the constitutional name of the Republic of Macedonia, that it would open the doors to the EU, that there would be free healthcare, free vaccines, scholarships, that was a big campaign, but we saw that instead of opening the chapters and negotiations with the EU, we got the door closed in front of us by France, and then by neighboring Bulgaria,” the MP added.
