Macedonia’s Chief Public Prosecutor Nenad Saveski and the National Security Agency (NSA) director Bojan Hristovski signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two institutions on Friday.

The purpose of the Memorandum is to further develop and promote cooperation between the Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) and the NSA, which should enable effective and efficient prevention and criminal prosecution.

In addition to strengthening the legally established mechanisms for the exchange of data and information between the two institutions, the Memorandum also provides for the exchange of knowledge and experiences, participation in joint projects, conferences and workshops, as well as the promotion of communication in other areas of mutual interest.

The document also regulates the application of security and confidentiality standards in the exchange of information.
