The Skopje Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) issues all necessary orders and guidelines for a complete clarification of Monday’s case in Skopje’s Karposh, when a mother and child died in a fall from a high-rise building.
“One person has been detained at a police station and, by order of the public prosecutor, actions are being taken to investigate possible criminal liability. An order from a pre-trial judge has been obtained and a detailed search of the apartment will be carried out during the day, which was sealed and secured immediately after the inspection. According to initial findings, at the time of the incident, the deceased and the minor girl were alone in the apartment, locked from the inside. Today, by order of the public prosecutor, inquiries are being conducted of several persons who have certain information, data is being extracted from mobile phones and video surveillance footage and other footage from several locations are being provided. An autopsy of the deceased was also ordered yesterday,” the Public Prosecutor’s Office said in a press release.
“Regarding the previous proceedings, the public prosecutor requested detailed reporting from the Ministry of Interior and the Social Services Center with all possible previous reports and complaints from the injured party, and will also order the internal control of the Ministry of Interior to investigate the proceedings following those reports,” reads the PPO’s press release.
