The intercity train between Prilep and Bitola will start operating at the end of June or the beginning of July, and cargo rail traffic to the two cities is expected to start soon, Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski told reporters during a visit to the Municipality of Mogila, noting that the railway will once again gain a significant role in both passenger and goods transport.
According to Nikoloski, the introduction of the railway line is a result of the need for alternative and faster transport during the period when the construction of the Prilep-Bitola motorway is being realized.
“There will be an intercity train between the two cities at appropriate times that will best suit the citizens. It will be a symbolic price of MKD 150, so that as many citizens as possible can use it,” said Deputy PM Nikoloski.
