Public Prosecutor Jovan Cvetanovski is back in office at the Skopje High Public Prosecutor’s Office, after the Council of Public Prosecutors unanimously lifted his suspension due to established shortcomings in the conduct of the disciplinary commission. At the same time, the Council decided to return the disciplinary case against him for reconsideration.
In a statement to the media, Cvetanovski says that he has not yet received an official decision to lift the first-instance disciplinary decision and that he expects to first familiarize himself with the established shortcomings before giving a more specific position.
The prosecutor expects the new disciplinary commission to assess the allegations in his appeal differently, which, as he says, were not considered at all in the initial procedure.
“My appeal against the first-instance decision was extensive and the first-instance commission did not respond to even 10 percent of the allegations. For these reasons, I expect them to be stated in the Council’s decision and for the disciplinary committee to now pay more attention, because these are serious issues,” Cvetanovski pointed out.
