VMRO-DPMNE accused of an alleged corrupt urban project in Tetovo linked to the former government led by Zoran Zaev and Ali Ahmeti.
At a press conference, VMRO-DPMNE MP Brane Petrushevski stated that in 2020, just one day after the election of the new government, changes were made to the Detailed Urban Plan (DUP) in Tetovo, which, as he claims, enabled a business worth around EUR 200 million.
According to Petrushevski, this concerns the space of the former industrial capacity SHIK Jelak, which was purchased by businessman Miodrag Davidović, a.k.a Daka, through the company Jelak Gradba.
The ruling party representative claims that the new urban plan envisaged the construction of more than 2,000 residential units, as well as business buildings and shopping centers on this location, which, according to him, would mean the creation of an “urban jungle.”
“If it weren’t for VMRO-DPMNE, a concrete jungle with thousands of apartments and business premises would have sprung up in the place of the former giant,” said Petrushevski, accusing the then government of pursuing policies in the interests of business elites.
