PSB head: Strengthening international cooperation in the fight against crime

The Public Security Bureau (PSB) director Aleksandar Janev is attending the Annual Conference of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP 2026) in Orlando, Florida, at the invitation of the International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) under the U.S. Department of Justice.

The conference, which brings together over 16,000 public safety professionals and representatives from more than 90 countries, serves as a forum for exchanging experiences and best practices in addressing contemporary security challenges—with a particular focus on organized crime, drug trafficking, financial crime, cyber threats, and terrorism.

Janev’s participation in the conference is aimed at strengthening international cooperation, building mutual trust, and enhancing information exchange, all of which are essential prerequisites for effectively combating crime that transcends national borders. Participation in this significant international event serves as a confirmation of the Macedonian police’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships, enhancing professional and technological capabilities, and ensuring greater security for citizens.
