We are seriously committed to investments, the Budget is currently in excellent condition, and the Ministry of Transport is a record-breaker in operations this year with 65% realization of capital investments so far, Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport AleksandarNikoloski told Telma TV.

“The budget is in excellent condition and if we face a situation of prolonged military crisis, with good planning we will provide serious answers. In fact, this is seen at the moment, where the crisis is felt, but not as much as it is. There is a set of measures that we are keeping as a reserve in case this escalates. I hope that it will end, that we will be able to return to normal,” said Nikoloski.

The Deputy PM emphasizes that he is proud of the realization of capital expenditures of his department, the percentage of which after the first quarter of this year alone is over 65 percent.

“In terms of capital expenditures, I am very proud that the Ministry of Transport is an absolute record holder in operations, as of March 31, i.e. in the first quarter of this year, the realization of capital expenditures is 65%, and at the government level it is 32%. You cannot find any year since the state became independent with such figures, which means that we are seriously committed to capital expenditures and investments,” noted Deputy PM Nikoloski.

In the interview, the deputy PM noted that work was being done in parallel on all motorway sections across the country, with a special focus on the projects implemented by the Bechtel-Enka consortium, that railway projects are also progressing intensively with serious preparations for the construction of the high-speed railway, while the Ohrid-Kichevomotorway is finally expected to be completed by the end of the year.
