The world-renowned Macedonian pianist Simon Trpcheski once again amazed the Japanese audience on September 3, 4 and 5 at his three concerts on various prestigious stages in Tokyo. As part of this tour in the Japanese capital, Trpcheski marked two decades since his debut in the Land of the Rising Sun.
Accompanied by the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and symbolically, as 20 years ago, the Macedonian piano virtuoso performed under the baton of one of the leading Japanese conductors, Maestro Kazushi Ono (chief conductor of the aforementioned orchestra, but also of the Tokyo National Opera).
In a statement to the Macedonian Radio immediately after the extraordinary concert series, Trpcheski did not hide his satisfaction with the reception he once again received.
“I am honored by the sold-out Tokyo Metropolitan Theater and Suntory Hall – one of the most famous concert halls in the world – where I performed with these wonderful artists of the Orchestra, with whom we performed the monumental and challenging “Concerto No. 3 for Piano and Orchestra” by Sergei Rachmaninoff. The exceptional audience on both orchestral evenings warmly brought me back twice for an encore, and the support culminated in the recital on the third evening in the extraordinary Yamaha Concert Hall, when after performing works by Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Ravel and Prokofiev, I was brought back for an encore 5 times.” Of course, I expressed my gratitude with several covers of famous Japanese songs, as well as with the version of “Don’t Sell Your Farmstead, Koljo” by Dimitrije Buzharovski, which I dedicated to all earthquake victims, especially linking the fact of Japanese expertise in our tragic event and the assistance that brought a new, particularly high level of Macedonian-Japanese friendship and cooperation. I am still impressed by the sincerity, warmth and enthusiasm with which I was once again embraced by the audience,” said Trpcheski, proud that during the period when Macedonia is celebrating its anniversary, it is once again celebrating its name in the most beautiful light on distant meridians.
As KulturOp informs, the rich concert schedule of our pianist, who in the past period has taken him to stages across Europe, but also to Ohrid and Bitola, has the Croatian capital as its next destination, where he will celebrate his birthday by opening the new concert season of the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, with which, under the baton of the orchestra’s chief conductor Dawid Runtz from Poland, he will perform “Concerto No. 1 for Piano and Orchestra” by Sergei Rachmaninoff.
